About Minosa Birmans

Welcome to Minosa Birmans.

We hope you enjoy your visit. This is the story so far...

My name is Pam Coyte and I was introduced to the beautiful Birman breed in 1987 by my Mum Margaret Winchcombe who bred under the Timbali prefix. Thank you so much Ma for giving me my start. You have given me years of support and encouragement in all things but especially my desire to breed beautiful Birmans.

My first Birman was a seal point female kitten named Timbali Pom Pom, my sister Trish also had a kitten from the same litter. Ma thought it would be fun for us to go to a cat show for a change so off we went to Sydney Royal. We were heavily involved in showing Quarter Horses in those days.

At the conclusion of judging we met one of the judges Judy Lewis. I think she was quite amused at these two "horsey" girls showing their little kittens. She spent a great deal of time that day explaining the ins and outs of cat showing to us. Especially me, as I had bathed my kitten every day for 10 days before the show trying to wash out her "beautiful golden hue". How green was I.

A few years later I was privileged enough to be able to purchase "Legend" from Judy. He was my first stud male and an imported boy to boot. His registered name was "Meowow Sapphires Legend". He was a beautiful strong blue point with amazing boning. He was not show marked so was never shown but he consistently produced show winners for me. Thank you so much Judy for entrusting Legend to me, and for your ongoing advice and help. Legend lived with me until he passed away at 18 years of age. He was a true gentleman and sired beautiful kittens for me to start my journey as a breeder.

I am a registered breeder with NSW CFA and currently hold the position of Vice President of the Birman Cat Club of Australia Inc.

Today, 24 years on from my first Birman, my love affair with the breed continues.

Please take a few moments to have a look at my cats, they are my pride and joy. Feel free to contact me if you have any enquiries.
